Oh, Honey!

It is definitely winter.  We've been dealing with the flu at our house.  Talmage's turn was yesterday, at about 3 am.  He hates throwing up so much that he will flail while in the process.  Disgusting, right?  He also throws himself down like he is throwing a fit because I am trying to make him throw up in the bowl.  I know, I'm a terrible mom, trying to get it to avoid his blankie and everything else around him.  So, we finally fell asleep.  It was about 7:45 am when Morgan woke us up.  He chose a movie and I put sheets and blankets and towels down around him even though I thought he was probably done, judging from how short Morgan's span of the sickness lasted.  I felt like I was safe to go back up to bed since he shouldn't be too rambunctious  after vomiting all morning.  Last time he had the stomach flu, he sat on the couch and didn't move or do much of anything all day and night.  This is very uncharacteristic of Tal, so that is how you know he really doesn't feel well.

One hour passes and Tal comes up to my bed side and says, "The honey is out!"  I looked at him and knew I was in for a big mess.  He has his blankie (throw up free) all balled up in his hands, yet his hands were sticking to it.

I got up and walked with him to the kitchen.  Upon entering I saw the honey bear, near empty, on the floor with the cap and lid placed nearby.  Talmage was back to his usual self.  I don't think he felt sick at all anymore.  Before I started to clean up the kitchen, I walked down the few stairs into the family room to retrieve Landon before he started crawling through it.  That is when I realized Talmage, in his footed pajamas, had walked through the honey and then proceeded to walk though the entire house.

Although I was not happy with him, I decided to take some photos to try and capture this mess.  I neglected to take photos of the black crayon on the couch and the two separate occasions of creamy white Balmex in the carpet.  All incidences are still visible and still annoying me.  I guess I could still take pics of them, too.  I thought about taking photos of Tal on the stool in the pantry with the open box of instant potatoes and the open honey bear, but there was no way of capturing it.  (That incidence was a few weeks ago.)  Why, you ask, is my honey still accessible?  It doesn't matter where it is, Talmage will find a way of reaching it!  Now I need to lock it up somehow.

Emily, between yours and my children, we could make a yummy lunch!  All that is needed is some bread!

If you so desire, clicking on the photo will make it much larger for you to see it better!

ha ha, you're right! A couple days ago I fell back asleep (yeah... smart, I know) and Abby and Zack proceeded to "wash" the dishes. I woke up to insane giggling, water, sugar, and bacon grease ALL OVER MY KITCHEN!! ughhh. At least it got me to mop the floor for the 2nd time ever... ;) Love and miss you Lees!!

Oh the joys of being a tired Mom of small children.

These are the times you will look back and just laugh.

Although, I still find it hard to laugh at the time Isabel and Annika got into the fridge and decided to make a corn tortilla and jelly omelete in my brand new carpet.

Okay, it is kind of funny.

Oh Lisa. Bleh. I'm sorry, we're sick over here too (though gratefully NOT with the stomach flu...we've got the chesty coughy variety...)And poor Talmadge. I hate throwing up so much that I flail during the process as well.

And the honey. Good times.

You know those movies that they play to teenagers about "scared stiff" and it shows bad kids going to jail? And, it is supposed to scare you into not doing anything wrong?

I am laughing as I write this:

This is a "scared stiff" for every teen girl who wants to have a baby! Or, the "fantasy" of having a perfect family!

I just laughed and laughed reading this and thought you should title it, "Natural Birth Control!"

Did Morgan every do this? My girls have never done anything like this. The closest they've come is to dump out the pretzel bag in the pantry, but that's easy enough to clean up. I'm wondering if it's more of a boy thing, or if I'm such a Nazi mom that my girls live in terror of doing anything that might result in a sticky mess.

When mom told me what happened I couldn't help but laugh! Somehow, I didn't think my kids were that bad that day. Anyway, we would have loved to take them for you whle you did some cleaning, but making it all the way out here might have been a bigger chore. Miss you! Les
