eye-run

As I pulled the ironing board out, Morgan said, "I know what you are doing! You're sewing!"

I don't iron often. So sue me. But I took a picture for Jason to see that I actually did iron. Sorry it wasn't your shirts, Jason. Maybe someday.

Write it down...

...and I would like to add, "NOW!"

Thanks to a post on my friend Katie's blog, I need to blog about a few things that I haven't written in my journal of things I don't ever want to forget that my kids say or do.

~We were stopped at a rest stop at about 2am and Morgan was sleeping. She starts to giggle and point up ahead and she says, "Mom, that sea horse is trying to tickle me!" What a dream she was having!

~Talmage has come out of his shell since being potty trained. He will talk to more people now and he loves to just talk. He is working harder at "using his words" instead of getting mad and crying and throwing little fits out of frustration.

~Landon's first "word" was "Choo-choo!"
~Talmage's first word was "Tessa"
~Morgan's first word was "Thank You!"

~Talmage says, "feegot" for forgot

~Talmage and Morgan are playing really well together lately. They do a lot of imagining. Tal seems to have a bigger imagination at this age, compared to Morgan when she was 3, but he has her to thank for that.

~We were at McDonalds in Sisters, OR and Jason feels the need to fart. And it was loud. Our little family with 3 young kids are sitting there with us and he thinks he is going to blame it on one of them, but before he had the chance, Talmage says, "That was your toot." Jason and I were busting a gut! My mascara was running down my face. It took a long time to recover from that one!

~Most of the things I want to remember right now are not possible for me to write down, so I have a lot of pics that look the same. It's just me trying to get that perfect photo and they are all actually different. And right now what I keep trying to capture is Landon. His expressions and his mannerisms. Maybe if I was a better writer, I'd be able to put into words how darling he is, and explain what he does with his face, but I am not. I am a bottom of the barrel amateur photographer and I'd rather capture these things with my camera. Although, the pics still don't show the image that is in my head. Hopefully they will remind me of the images my eyes have seen. The eyes are a much better tool than the camera.

Can't escape the heat!

This was one peaceful moment in the car. Only because Landon was having one of his 20 minute naps. He only had 2 naps in the 12 hours we were in the car.

We finally got to Washington and played with Nate and Camille. It was Monday night and we went straight to the Grandma and Grandpa Brown house where it was nice and cool. (My sister Kristin's in-laws)

G&G Brown have the COOLEST swing. It is so far up into the tree! The kids had a blast on it when it finally cooled down to almost bearable to go outside.

When Jason and I went out in the middle of the day in the heat, Landon was too tired to stay awake and he zonked on Jason's lap.

This is Deception Point out near Anacortes, Washington. It was so much cooler up there and the water was freezing. But it felt so good on our feet.

This is not Russ pushing Morgan into the water. This is Morgan sitting in the water and him just making sure she could get up. She didn't mind the freezing Puget Sound.

My sweet, pregnant sister, Kristin, trying to deal with the heat! She is 8 months pregnant and doesn't have air conditioning in her house!

Landon likes to be shy these days.

Tal took a head dive into the Sound. On accident. He seemed to be pretty tough about it.

We got back to the G&G Brown house and it had reached 106! A few minutes later it was 107. Incredible. There was no break from the Utah heat with a trip up to the Northwest, but it was still beautiful and so nice to spend time with the Browns.

Morgan and Camille play much better now that Morgan has gotten bigger! They are so fun to watch and listen to. We wish we lived closer!

Dununununununununu...Batman!

Do you see that? He is wearing underwear. Those Batman sunglasses were his first prize for pooping in the toilet. These were taken away later for pooping in his underwear. After a near detrimental discussion on going poop in the toilet today, a near give up point for mom and Talmage, ("I want to wear diapers!") he peaked over the wall from the upstairs and told me he needed to go potty. We ran to the bathroom and he proceeded to poop!!!! A real live miracle! He is now wearing his new poop prize, the Batman jammies (with cape) and sleeping in a diaper for naptime. What a big boy.

Imagine the noise!

There are 14 here and there in one more due on the 12th of August. Mealtimes were definitely the craziest times, but they have so much fun playing together. 7, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 2.5, 2, 19 mo., 19 mo., 14 mo., 4 months!

We took everyone to the zoo. It was very fun and we didn't even lose anybody!

Landon and Myles are one day apart in age. They are destined to be buddies!

I really do fit right in with this family full of redheads!

The guys let us get out for a day of food and shopping. None of us really wanted to go home. But the kids were all in one piece and the house and kitchen were all clean when we got there! Thank you Brett, Jason and Rich.

It's my birthday & I'll cry if I want to!

My Talmage is 3!  He stretched his birthday time out in true birthday boy fashion.  We celebrated it first with the Holt April birthdays on Easter.  Then with Grandpa Perry's birthday the next Sunday.  I did a small "Cars" party for him with three of his cousins and his neighbor friend.  Then we went to "Old" McDonalds for lunch where he got hit in the face with a basketball.  He fell asleep on the floor at home and got a rude awakening when Landon hit him in the face with his bottle (Landon has quite the arm.)  I tried to help him through a fit so he could choose his birthday dinner.  Finally we made German Pancakes for dinner.  Daddy found him an awesome soccer jersey at Costco and a goal set for the backyard.  But I must say his favorite things have been the Batman from Grandma Holt and the swords from the Duprees (Mark, obviously.)  We'll have to see what he comes home with from the Toy Store with Grandma Perry when he gets to choose!  We had one last cake and candles--chocolate of course.  He loves "endinems."  Because they are chocolate.  Like father like son.  His teeth pose a little bit of a problem when he tries to blow candles out.  But it is entertaining.
Happy Birthday, Talmage!

Racing to the finish "yine."

I guess blowing the candles out four times gets pretty bright.
This kid has so much personality.  We love our Talmage.
